EUROCLASSICA brings together educators, institutions, and enthusiasts dedicated to classical languages and culture. We promote Latin, Ancient Greek, and Europe’s shared classical heritage through education, collaboration, and exchange across the continent.

Mission Statement

EUROCLASSICA brings together Europe’s national associations of classical teachers to strengthen the teaching and appreciation of classical languages and cultures. By fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and promoting the relevance of the ancient world, we support educators and learners across Europe and beyond. Our mission is to ensure that Classics remain a vital and respected part of modern education and cultural identity.

Cursor

The Amici Linguae Latinae, founded in 2003 in Austria, love classical languages and classical culture. Every year the magazine “cursor. Zeitschrift für Freunde der lateinischen Sprache und europäischen Kultur” is published.

The first edition of “European Symbols” was presented at the Congress of EUROCLASSICA held in Valetta 2015. “European Symbols” is a joint schoolbook for European students containing contributions from 20 European countries.

ELEX – European Latin Examination

ELEX certifies students’ knowledge of Latin through a Europe-wide examination system. It promotes high standards in Latin education and supports the continued study of classical languages.

EGEX – European Greek Examination

EGEX certifies students’ knowledge of Ancient Greek through a Europe-wide examination system. It promotes high standards in Greek education and supports the continued study of classical languages.
